Dryland Workouts

Practicing skills away from the pool, helps to build muscle memory and endurance. Form and technique are also important. Exercises outside the water may improve body positioning.

Here are a few exercises, you can do at home.

Holding Breath

Breath control is an important part of becoming a good swimmer. In this video, swimmers can practice breath control with Mrs. Hannah C.

Belly Kicks

Kicking provides balance and stability in swimming while propelling the body forward. Mrs. Renee shows how to practice kicking on your belly for a strong freestyle kick.

Kicking on Back

Flutter kicking on your back is an upward motion beginning with your hips. Keeping the knees in a relaxed position without bending them is a must for a good backstroke kick. Miss Autumn gives some practice tips.

Freestyle Armstroke

Strengthening arms out of the pool is simple. In this video, Mrs. Holly gives tips on correct arm positioning while practicing freestyle arm rotation.
